Health-care waste management in India
Article Abstract:
The article examines a proposed plan for safely separating and managing medical wastes in India, which are currently being handled along with general municipal solid wastes and therefore present a public health risk. The plan includes standards for storage containers, the use of color-coding for separating wastes, and training for health care staff in safe handling practices.

Air pollution caused by opencast mining and its abatement measures in India
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on strategies used to curb the environmental impact of mine dusts in India's coal mining industry. Additional strategies suggested for implementation include broader use of dust control chemicals on mining haul roads, and the planting of high-tolerance tree and plant species to assist with airborne pollution reduction.
