Influence of bid and subsample vectors on the welfare measure estimate in dichotomous choice contingent valuation: evidence from a case-study
Article Abstract:
A model is described for estimating the recreational value of a national park, using Spain's Tablas de Daimiel National Park as a case study. Components include a posteriori Monte Carlo simulations for calculating variance and bias of the welfare measure estimator, varying parameters such as willingness-to-pay distribution truncation, sample allocation among several bid levels, and the magnitude and number of the bids.

A comparison of alternative contingent valuation elicitation treatments for the evaluation of complex environmental policy
Article Abstract:
The article examines the influence of embedding on willingness-to-pay contingent valuation estimates used in assessing economic benefits of environmental policies. Findings show that top-down allocation, along with sub-sampling of separate policy components, is the most reliable approach for valuing multi-dimensional policies and circumventing embedding bias.

Economic valuation of urban forest benefits in Finland
Article Abstract:
Application of a valuation model in urban Finland shows that housing infill is detrimental to social perceptions of quality of life once the loss of green space is taken into account. Green spaces include forested parks and wooded recreation areas.
