An overview is presented on forms of desertification in China, along with proposed strategies for control. Causes of desertification include wind, water, physical characteristics and chemical activities; control strategies include uniform approaches across different governing agencies, improved education on conservation goals, and collaboration between policy-makers and scientists.

Is Northern China winning the battle against desertification?
Article Abstract:
Research on Northern China's Ordos Plateau indicates that primary productivity has increased over the region since 1982. The highest levels were found for irrigated agricultural land on the Yellow River, which may be attributable to the biomass from trees planted for farmland protection.
