New lives for old computers
Article Abstract:
Rapid technological development has resulted in the problem of disposal of an increasing number of outdated computer equipment. Whiles most computer supplies and peripheral equipment can be reused or recycled, others prefer to donate their equipment to low-income groups, schools and non-profit organizations.

One of the six 1995 Goldman Prize winners, from the English anti-road campaign, writes in appreciation of the other winners, especially Ken Saro-Wiwa of Nigeria. Saro-Wiwa was jailed, and hanged, by the Nigerian regime for his protests against Shell Oil drilling devastation.

Ken Saro-Wiwa: killed by Shell
Article Abstract:
Playwright, Nobel Peace Prize nominee, and environmental activist Ken Saro-Wiwa of Nigeria has been executed by that country's military government, along with eight other activists. Saro-Wiwa had brought attention to the decimation of the land by Shell Oil Co.
