Non-neutral community dynamics: Empirical predictions for ecosystem function and diversity from linearized consumer-resource interactions
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to find out how resource and consumer species richness and their relative abundances vary with the means and variances in enrichment level and strengths of intra-and interspecific interactions. It is also demonstrated that the responses of local resource and consumer species richness to the global species pools at both trophic levels, as well as the covariation with net resource productivity.

On testing for a tradeoff between constitutive and induced resistance
Article Abstract:
Plants possess two types of resistance against herbivores, constitutive resistance and induced resistance triggered by attack and as the production of both resistance types entails a metabolic cost, a tradeoff between them has frequently been hypothesized. High investment in constitutive resistance is predicted to be matched by low investment in induced resistance, and vice-versa.

When can two plant species facilitate each other's pollination?
Article Abstract:
A population models of two plant species that share the same pollinator and compete for establishment sites is constructed, and heterospecific pollen can interfere with successful seed set is assumed. The apparent rarity of pollination facilitation in nature is discussed.
