Perception of the environmental impacts of current and alternative modes of pig production by stakeholder groups
Article Abstract:
A research is conducted to evaluate the perceptions of stakeholders concerned with pig production and assess the relative importance of environmental and social issues. It is stated that the results obtained can be used in the research programme on the environmental impact of modes of pig production.

Soil erosion in developing countries: a socio-economic appraisal
Article Abstract:
The basic theories on soil erosion and the different reasons that aggravated the problem of soil erosion are discussed. Two recent theoretical developments are reviewed in order to find out the factors that are mainly responsible for the continued soil erosion in developing countries.

A practical scientific approach to riparian vegetation rehabilitation in Australia
Article Abstract:
A summary of the results of a series of trial plantings of native riparian vegetation in ten sites in the Hunter Valley, Australia, is given. Various shortcomings that were identified during the investigation of the success of the trial plantings in the Hunter Valley are discussed.
