Recent changes in body weight and wing length among some British passerine birds
Article Abstract:
Variation in animal adult body size is related to temporal and geographic variation, including climate, inter and intraspecific competition and predation. Long term changes in body weight is attributed mainly to global warming, and greater site and species-specific effects on wing length is because the wing length involved variation in both bone and feather growth.

Faced with a choice, sparrowhawks more often attack the more vulnerable prey group
Article Abstract:
The selection of a prey by a vertebrate terrestrial predator on the basis of absolute or relative vulnerability is examined. After predicting the relative vulnerability to capture of redshanks occurring in pairs in a fourth winter, it was found that sparrowhawks attacked the most vulnerable prey group twice as often.

The effect of limited visibility on vigilance behaviour and speed of predator detection: implications for the conservation of granivorous passerines
Article Abstract:
The reasons for the increase in the levels of predation risk faced by animals are discussed. The effect of limited visibility on vigilance behavior and speed of predator detection in the animals is described.
