Species loss and the structure and functioning of multitrophic aquatic systems
Article Abstract:
The different aspects of species loss in multitrophic-level systems are explored from an empirical and theoretical perspective, and the distribution of the species richness and extinctions amongst trophic levels are investigated. The result indicates the insufficiencies of the single trophic level ecosystem models for understanding the functional consequences of extinctions.

Size dependent foraging capacities and intercohort competition in an ontogenetic omnivore (Artic char)
Article Abstract:
The competitive interactions between differently sized individuals of Artic char under different environmental conditions at three different spatial scales are examined. Results reveal that large (1-y) char growth is negatively affected by cohort competition whereas small (YOY) char growth is not.
