Survival costs of adult dormancy and the confounding influence of size in lady's slipper orchids, genus Cypripedium
Article Abstract:
The relationships among dormancy, survival and plant size are explored using sympatric populations of two lady's slipper orchid species, genus Cypripedim, and their hybrid. The results have suggested common cues to dormancy, and also caution in inferring costs of dormancy from studies in which plant size is not controlled, as such costs might be artifacts of smaller plants being more dormant-prone and less likely to survive.

Large-scale spatial and temporal patterns in population dynamics of the stoat, Mustela Erminea, and the least weasel, M. nivalis, in Finland
Article Abstract:
A snow-tracking stat is used to characterize the dynamics of small mutelids collected from different parts of Finland. The results have indicated the dependence of stoat and weasel dynamics on their main prey and a decreasing temporal trend in the abundances of both species as was reported for voles.
