Sustaining co-operation for coastal sustainability
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the ideas advanced by certain disciplines in relation to human behavior and in contrast to nature. The four primary challenges analyzed include value discourse, information and empowerment, creating optimism about the level of optimism and agenda setting. The objective of the study is to engender cooperative coastal-management decisions and to maximize the motivation of stakeholders for voluntary cooperation.

Analytical perspectives of cooperative coastal management
Article Abstract:
The article examines a cooperative, bottom-up, process-oriented coastal zone management approach, which maximizes voluntary cooperation among stakeholders and yields better results than acting-alone management options. This approach is presented as an alternative to coercive, or top-down, outcome-oriented management method.

Changing environmental strategies over time: an empirical study of the steel industry in the United States
Article Abstract:
The article maps the changes in environmental strategies in the US, and categorizes these changes into the three stages of cost minimization, cost-effective compliance, and beneficial environmental control. These stages are then examined using the steel industry as an illustrative example.
