The contribution of forums to rural sustainable development: a preliminary evaluation
Article Abstract:
The help provided by forums in attaining sustainable land use policies and decisions with rural Wales was investigated. The cases of Cardigan Bay Forum and Wales Rural Forum were employed to indicate how sustainability has been considered within their overall agendas. Results showed that forums can be agents of change. However, there is substantial conflict within both forums, within an environment of financial and membership vulnerability, between the need to consider all legitimate causes and the need to obtain meaningful results for individual members.

Review of studies on environmental impacts of recreation and tourism in Australia
Article Abstract:
Environmental research suggests that tourists can damage Australia's natural environment if their activities are not properly supervised. Activities such as horse-riding and rambling are damaging the country's vegetation due to physical and biological causes. Biological surveys suggest that myrtle wilt disease has increased in some vegetative areas. Further research is necessary to establish impact study details.
