The role of niche breadth, resource availability and range position on the life history of butterflies
Article Abstract:
The relationship between three life history characteristics and niche breadth, resource availability and range position of the butterfly fauna of Finland is analyzed. Results indicate that there is selection pressure towards lower migration rate in species that have restricted niche breadth and low resource availability.

Environmental noise and population dynamics of the ciliated protozoa Tetrahymena thermophila in aquatic microcosms
Article Abstract:
The prediction of slow population dynamics, increased population variability and strengthened environmental-population correlation due to the decrease in environmental noise is examined. The prediction is tested with axenic populations of ciliated protozoa Tetrahymena thermophila.
