Wastewater treatment with multilayer media of waste and natural indigenous materials
Article Abstract:
Wastewater treatment using waste materials and natural indigenous rocks in the form of multilayer media was investigated by evaluating the removal of suspended solids, phosphate ion and chemical oxygen demand (COD). The wastewater treatment system is suitable for small scale plants in local and nonexclusive areas as it is simple, convenient and cost effective.

Cleaner production in the ammonia-soda industry: An ecological and economic study
Article Abstract:
Five technological concepts are presented, which help in lowering the negative influence of soda ash factories on the natural environment in Poland. The results indicate that the application of the processes introduced in the ash plants will reduce the costs of soda production by $2.2 million per year.
