Winter weather affects asp viper Vipera aspis population dynamics through susceptible juveniles
Article Abstract:
Patterns of survival and reproduction in six populations of threatened European snake, the asp viper Viper aspis over six to 17 years were examined to show the effect of climate variation on its population dynamics. The result showed that the winter climate affected population dynamics predominantly through variation in juvenile survival, although sensitivity of the population growth rate to juvenile survival was lower than to adult survival.

Climate affects embryonic development in a viviparous snake, Vipera aspis
Article Abstract:
The extent to which the fluctuations in the natural thermal conditions during pregnancy affect the reproduction in a temperate viviparous snake, the aspic viper, is investigated. It is concluded that in the northern population of snakes, embryonic development is affected by the natural thermal conditions even though, active maternal thermoregulation occurs.

Morphological variation does not influence locomotor performance within a cohort of hatchling lizards (Amphibolurus muricatus, Agamidae)
Article Abstract:
The relationship between morphology and sprinting performance of hatchling jacky dragons (Amphibolurus muricatus) at four different test conditions (inclines) is studied. The data suggest that different morphological traits do not differentially maximize locomotor performance up variable inclines.
