The state of garbage in America
Article Abstract:
The article offers a regional breakdown of waste management in America, focusing on recycling, incineration and landfilling. Landfills remain the primary means of disposal in all regions except New England, where incineration is still the dominant method. In the last decade, however, the nation's aggregate recycling percentage has quadrupled, going from 8% in 1990 to 32% in 2001.
