The influence of Hispanics at the Democratic Party convention in August 2000 is assessed. Health care and education were highlighted at the convention by the Latino Committee as being of most importance to Hispanic voters.

How many colors in the rainbow? Jesse Jackson's Wall Street Project seeks to promote equity in the financial sector
Article Abstract:
The second annual Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Wall Street Project was attended by President Clinton, and other cabinet officers who praised the project's promotion of increased minority representation on Wall Street. The CEO of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, George Herrera, states that only two of the 58 member's of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition's board of directors have Hispanic surnames. Therefore, the organization cannot speak for all minorities; their focus will be the African American community. The charges have been denied by Reverend Jackson and other business and community leaders.
