Children may develop problematic financial personalities. They can either be extreme savers or extreme spenders. Parents with children who are extreme savers should teach them the pain of living without the thing they want while spenders should learn how to prioritize and to be patient.

Honesty is needed in answering children's questions about parents' finances but the truth should be told up to a certain point only. Total honesty is not the best policy when it comes to answering questions of parents' salaries.
