Fagoting by machine
Article Abstract:
Fagoting may be duplicated on the machine if the machine can make decorative stitches of at least 4 mm wide. This open seam stitching was traditionally done by hand to embellish a special garment. A narrow space between two pieces of fabric is filled with open, decorative stitching patterns, which, if applied on a solid piece of fabric, would have a different affect.

Secrets of a precision sewer
Article Abstract:
Perfectly controlled stitches result from careful watching of the guide, such as the edges or folds of the garment, instead of the needle. Markings on the sewing machine should also be used instead of marking the fabric. Whenever possible, the fabric should be kept in contact with both feed dogs.
