Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the acceptance in the American diet of calamari and other cephalopoda dishes are discussed. The existence of a Calamari Index to measure the amount of calamari consumed is discussed. Details regarding eating insects and worms are also analysed, with the conclusion that the inclusion of a wide variety of foods in the diet of American people explains why they have grown fatter.
