Nostalgia
Article Abstract:
An appreciation of American rock singer Janis Joplin is presented. Richard Avedon's black and white photography for a 1968 edition of Vogue presented an image of youth and serenity which was at odds with the coarseness of her natural appearance. The author finds inspiration in Joplin's attitude to life.
