For straight up and down figure basic shirts and pleated pants would be used, for rounded figure the garments must be designed with soft shape and few structured fitting details, whereas people with short neck must wear jackets with tailored collars and lapels and shirts with stand-up collars.

Hungarian home sewers usually use old models of sewing machine and sews with printed polyesters, viscose, knits and blends. There are few fabric stores in Hungary but sewing remains a primary source of income for Hungarian women.
