Brown-Forman buys Jekel Vineyard
Article Abstract:
The Monterey County, CA, winery has undergone an ownership change for the second time in under a year. Kentucky-based Brown-Forman purchased the winery that went under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection under the name Vintech. Jekel produces approximately 50,000 cases a year.

Eisele has long supplied grapes to Joseph Phelps Vineyard for an Eisele Cabernet, but now the owners are going to try making their own wines. Phelps will stop making the Cabernet.
