Gallo of Sonoma: prime vineyards, a high-tech winery and a drive to succeed have redefined quality for Gallo
Article Abstract:
Gallo of Sonoma makes some of the best wine in California. The winery, opened in 1990, is owned by E. and J. Gallo Winery, known for its jug wines, and produces about four million cases of wine each year. The quality of the wines results from using old-time winemaking methods, such as fermentation in barrels, limited use of filtration and the use of rotary fermentors.

It's all or nothing
Article Abstract:
Excellent wine depends on excellent grapes, and the wine industry is increasingly focused on grape crop loads. Many winemakers looking to make perfect wines are looking for minimal crop loads, because fewer grapes per vine means more flavorful grapes. This trend contributes to the number of high-priced, low-production wines on the market.
