Hanzell Vineyards suspended sales of its 2000 Chardonnay and 1999 Pinot Noir following the tests, which showed the presence of 2,4,6-trichloroanisole (TCA) in the Chardonnay and in the winery's cellar. People with higher thresholds may perceive the taint as an off flavor without being able to identify it as TCA.
