Khoury collection sets single-owner sale record

The Tawfiq Khoury wine collection that was sold at a Zachys-Christie's auction set the most expensive single owner sale record for wines. The collection sold for $3.2 million, including a 15% buyer's premium, at a three session auction held on Mar 21 and 22, 1997, in New York.

Fourth quarter 1997 auction index dips 5 percent

First-growth Bordeaux prices did not rise significantly in the fourth quarter of 1997, but the top California reds saw increases. Burgundy, Bordeaux, Sauterne, vintage Port and California Cabernet auction prices are given.
