Spain in the 21st century
Article Abstract:
Spain cultivates more acres of vineyards than any other country in Europe, with its bodegas making bold, ageworthy reds, fresh dry whites and distinctive sparkling wines, along with the many styles and flavors of Sherry, the country's unique fortified wine. A review of the country's offerings, like Priorat, Ribera del Duero and Rioja, reveals that Spanish winemakers are enjoying a fine run of vintages in the first decade of the 21st century.
