Article Abstract:
The tasting of a stunning 2004 Syrah from Fairview Ranch Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands under the label Alesia, inspired to further explore the Highlands Syrah. It was observed that there are many Syrah clones which are commercially available, but a new clonal mix with some pepper, better suited to Santa Lucia Highlands' cool climate will make for a great wine.
