Antioxidant vitamins and cardiovascular disease
Article Abstract:
Coronary heart disease risk may be reduced by the intake of antioxidant vitamins, but more research is required in this area. Beta carotene supplementation does not provide noticeable risk reduction according to existing studies, while vitamin E does appear to provide some reduction in cardiovascular disease risk. Randomized trials on primary and secondary disease prevention may ultimately yield valuable data on this question.

The traditional and emerging role of nuts in healthful diets
Article Abstract:
Evidence suggests that nuts can be an important contribution to a healthy diet. Preliminary research has shown a link between nuts and a lowered risk for heart disease possibly due to their fatty acid, folic acid, vitamin E, or arginine content. Nuts are an important protein, vitamin, and mineral source. People for many ages have incorporated nuts into their diets.
