Late-harvest wines originated from Hungary where grapes afflicted with a fungus known as botrytis cinerea or noble rot were discovered and made into a sweet, elegant elixir with hints of flowers, apricots and spice. The best late-harvest wines come from Hungary, Germany, France, Italy and the US.
