Horseradish is a well-known tradition in German cuisine. The bitter root was once bought fresh from the market in Germany, but is now available prepackaged in supermarkets. This herb can be prepared in many ways and can be a good complement to many entrees.

Cloves: the Christmas spice

Cloves can be used in a wide variety of recipes, and Czech, Sri Lankan and French cultures are only a few of the many that incorporate this spice into their cuisines. Recipes are given for spiced coffee mousse, apple-clove butter and pumpkin-clove pancakes.
