Refreshing Asian beers: these brews are ideal with good old American barbecue

Asian beers are not only ideal drink partners to Asian food, but also compliment American summertime favorites, particularly barbecued ribs, chicken, fish and burgers. The Philippines' pork adobo and lumpia partner well with the country's San Miguel beer. Other beer brands from different Asian countries are discussed.

That touch of pink: sparkling roses dress up December celebrations

Winemaker Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin is thought to have created the first true sparkling rose in 1777, and today roses are popular holiday wines. Roses produced by maceration tend to be paler and more complex than blends. Several roses are recommended.
