West of Austin is a region called Texas Hill Country, once settled by Germans, that is famous for its mixture of Mexican, German and cowboy cultures as evidenced by the delicious food served in its numerous dining places. Among these are The River View Restaurant and The Salt Lick.

The Paseo del Rio is a two-and-a-half mile walkway that overlooks the San Antonio River and is one of the main attractions in San Antonio, TX. Many restaurants and open-air cafes line the Paseo del Rio. There are also four star hotels and paddleboat rides.
