Article Abstract:
A big party also known as a churrasco, or barbecue held at the Fazenda Itu, a grand old cattle ranch in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul is described where original South American wine was served with the food. The places with the different kinds of South American wines they offer are presented, including Malbec in Argentina, Carmenere in Chile and Tannat in Uruguay and Brazil.

The wine-makers of Trentino--Alto Adige have seriously started the craft of winemaking using the traditional grapes of those French regions. Though the place was most suited for the preparation of steely whites with flavors of wet stones and wild flowers, only a few wine-makers succeeded in preparing world-class red-wine with grapes native to the region.
