A New England tradition: Sandwich Glass is rooted in the region

Sandwich glass originally made by the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company from 1825 to 1885, is used to make intricate patterned and light-infused color of glass articles. Deming Jarves, a Boston entrepreneur, founded this company in 1925 in Sandwich, Massachusetts, where he found an abundant supply of sand and forest fuel.

Bridges for the 21st century
Article Abstract:
Groups from the federal government are working to save bridges in New England whose number has reduced from 168 to 159 from the year 1984 to 2004. Vermont, which has the highest number of bridges, received a federal grant of nearly $ 8 million by the National Covered Bridge Preservation Program.
