Studies in Antarctica includes NASA research into the viability of manned exploration of Mars. The Antarctic mimics the cold, dry atmosphere of Mars in many ways. Other research is being down on penguins and the ozone. Photos illustrating the icy beauty of the region are included.

The demobilization of Colin Powell
Article Abstract:
Powell is retiring in Sep 1993 after 35 years in the US Army. During his tenure as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff he rarely took days off, worked long days starting at 7 am and gave over 100 speeches a year. Some believe that he may run for president after his retirement.
