Matthew Kenney grew up in Searsport, ME, and he recently returned to his hometown after learning his cooking trade in New York, NY. He is responsible for several restaurants in New York, NY, still, and owns several restaurants and food shops in Searsport. Recipes for butternut squash ravioli; pear, walnut, and bleu cheese salad; Mrs. Kenney's pan-fried venison; Commissary onion jam; and cheddar meat loaf are given.

The recipes include split-second cookies from a beloved aunt who became a judge, a deep-dish strawberry-rhubarb pie which appeared in a recipe book used for storing family money, and caraway cole slaw from a mother's 50-year recipe collection.
