Twenty-five million-plus veterans in the US represent a formidable voting bloc, hence the election candidates and parties are aware that veterans issues must not be overlooked. Presidential candidate George W. Bush is campaigning as a wartime president, and relying on veterans to judge him by his response to terrorist attacks, whereas, Bush's rival John Kerry is using his Vietnam War service to attract the veterans.

Why veterans should elect Republicans to Congress
Article Abstract:
Republicans have passed a legislation enabling severely disabled military retirees to simultaneously receive their full military pension and disability compensation. As the House Republicans have not forgotten the veteran servicemen and women, and have done enough to improve their quality of life, Republicans have a right to be elected to Congress by the veterans.
