Vermont inventor Edward LaForce has designed a car engine powered by magnets that is incredibly fuel-efficient and non-polluting. Despite endorsements from highly qualified engineers and administrators, run-ins with the IRS and the SEC have prevented much of his brilliance from reaching fruition.

Save the storks

White storks are an endangered species. Of 19 species, only two breed in Europe, the rare black stork and the white stork which breeds mainly in Poland. Wroclaw, Poland-based ProNatura is actively and successfully initiating environmental programs including one to save Poland's storks.
