Carla Caputo was diagnosed as having inflammatory bowel disease when she was 16 years old. Her condition, which is a combination of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, afflicts around 2,200,000 North Americans. However, after several operations, she has fully recovered and now leads a normal life.
