Stone carving has existed as an art form for thousands of years and its techniques are similar to wood carving. Stones of any type can be carved, but softer stones are the easiest to work with because they require fewer special tools. Tips on how to make a stone carving are presented.

The 10th Mountain Division was created in Dec 1941 and was comprised of volunteer soldiers who knew how to alpine ski. The division did not see any action until 1944, as it underwent two years of training. It spent time in northern Italy fighting the Germans.
