Article Abstract:
Indians belonging to higher castes exhaust all means to prevent Harijans or untouchables from attaining social mobility for fear of disrupting the cosmic cycle and losing the privileges they enjoy under the system. Education remains the sole means of eradicating the harm inflicted by this practice.
