Chisel in the throat

Evan Friesen was working as an apprentice mechanic when a chisel accidentally sliced into his neck and severed an artery. Friesen lost a large amount of blood but prompt action by emergency paramedics and the skill of surgeons allowed him to survive.

Disaster on Mount Pinatubo
Article Abstract:
The eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines on Apr. 2, 1991, caused the massive displacement of the Aytas, the indigenous people who inhabited the mountain. Residents living near the volcano also lost their homes and their means of livelihood.
