The hills of New England promise an enjoyable skiing and other outdoor activities. Quechee Lakes Ski Area, for instance, in Vermont has only eight trails and some wide slopes ideal for neophyte skiers. Ragged Mountain in New Hampshire, on the other hand, is uncrowded and safe.
