The National Institute on Drug Abuse estimates that at least 500,000 American teenagers use or have used performance-enhancing drugs, a troubling trend as teens are less likely to consider the physiological and psychological dangers of steroid use. The case of seventeen-year-old Taylor Hooton who committed suicide, is described.
