Research show that the hearing capacity of men decline approximately twice as fast as in women. The study, which was conducted by the US National Institute on Aging, also suggest that past studies on the same subject have been very limited.

The National Institute of Aging reports that men 30 to 80 years old would more likely suffer from hearing loss than women of the same age group. However, the study did not cite explanations for the finding.
