Japanese comics internationally known as manga is becoming the fastest growing sector of publishing industry with 2004 sales reportedly totaling more than $120 million which is 20% up from 2003. Julie Taylor, editor of the girls manga division at Tokyopop states that its refreshing for a girl to read a story written by another girl who knows her sensibility, knows what a girl is into and can tap into those feelings of a girl.

Sea Cadet program builds character
Article Abstract:
U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Corps in South Portland, Maine, a nonprofit youth organization operating under the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard Operations Instructions, impacts the youth in meaningful ways in communities across America. The participants develop interest and skills in basic seamanship, are trained in seagoing skills and learn patriotism, self-reliance and kindred virtues through the program.
