Car safety devices should be properly used and inspected to prevent them from causing injury or death. Devices that should be studied include safety belts, anti-lock braking systems and airbags. Anti-lock brakes should not be pumped and children under 12 should not be seated in front of air bags.

Safer by the gallon
Article Abstract:
The trend towards fuel economy has lead to an increase in small car sales. However, statistics show that larger vehicles may be safer than smaller ones. In 1997 36% of road deaths occurred in small cars compared to 6% in large or full size cars.
