Hair loss affects around 50% of men by the time they are 50 and many may seek treatment for the condition. However, no treatment is available that can guarantee to stop hair loss, say experts, although surgery or wearing a hairpiece are options. An evaluation of products claiming to prevent or treat thinning hair shows that none were effective in significantly improving the appearance of thinning hair.

An eight-year-old girl killed in the Jul 6, 1944, circus fire in Hartford, CT, was never identified. Hartford firefighter Rick Davey worked for over nine years to identify the girl. In 1991 he found Mildred and Donald Cook, mother and brother of the girl, Eleanor Emily Cook.
