The Native Americans who lived in New England when it was settled by white people in the 1600s have not died out. Active tribal nations are working hard to maintain their cultural identities by retelling stories and by making their presence known after many years of denial by society.

Article Abstract:
Thousands of people visit New England for the fall foliage season every year. If those people could be persuaded to stay to rake the leaves after they fell, it could mean a huge increase in tourism dollars. The key would be to promote raking as if it were the next Olympic sport.
