Some people disrupt their daily lives because the imagine that they are ugly. People can reduce the impact imagined ugliness has on their lives by avoiding frequent weighing or standing in front of a mirror, seeking counseling if necessary and taking medication if depressed.

People can often be rapidly and intensely angered by simply hearing certain words or phrases. The steps in avoiding such sudden outbursts include becoming aware of which words or phrases cause anger, being sensitive to bodily reactions and anticipating angry reactions.

Research conducted by the Institute of Occupational Health in Finland indicated that women exposed to VDTs that emitted strong extremely-low-frequency electromagnetic fields were over three times as likely to have a miscarriage than women exposed to weaker fields.
